Training for the Whole Dog

The Head-to-Tail method is a "whole dog" approach to canine
companionship. As the name implies, we cover every aspect of
family and companion dog ownership. This includes, basic obedience, wellness, relationship building, owner responsibility, good citizenship and more. Our goal is to have happy pet dogs and happy owners. Only positive training methods are used.

No harsh methods. No gimmicks.

Dog training begins with building a relationship founded on trust.
Head-to-Tail promotes non-aversive, humane methods of dog
training. Head-to-Tail training continuously proves effective
because it is both compassionate and practical. Each dog-owner
team is treated as an individual. We work to find a reliable,
consistent communication system that works for owner and dog.
When it is easy and effective, dog training is fun!

As featured in Dog Fancy magazine (Oct 2008).

About Head-to-Tail

Diet, grooming and regular vet visits take care of your dog physically; training maintains your dog's mental and emotional well-being.

Head-to-Tail works to improve the lives of dogs and their owners by building stronger relationships through education and training. Training is provided in a safe, fun and emotionally rewarding environment. The company is actively involved with rescue efforts through philanthropy and volunteering with local community services. We lead by example of responsible, caring pet ownership.

"Educate with respect and compassion for people and dogs alike." The goal is to have healthy, well-mannered pet dogs and happy owners. Real-life situations are addressed with realistic solutions. Only positive reinforcement methods are used.

Trainer Loella Springmann has been working with pet dogs since 1993. Head-to-Tail, Inc. opened for business April 2005 to serve Frederick, MD and surrounding areas.
